National Cadet Corps was raised in Rajasthan in 1949 with three units, one each at Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur comprising of 600 Cadets.  In the absence of any Circle HQ in Rajasthan, these units were affiliated to HQ 7 Circle Cadet Corps, Delhi. With the expansion of NCC, HQ 14 Circle Cadet Corps was raised at Jaipur in 1954.  The strength of NCC units under its command was raised to seven. In Jan 1963, the Circle HQ was redesignated as NCC Directorate Rajasthan and the level of Command was raised from Colonel to Air Commodore. NCC Directorate Rajasthan has under its command four NCC Group HQs loc at Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Kota. A total of 37 units covering 209 colleges and 519 schools, with auth str of 18304 SD/SW and 34409 JD/JW Cadets i.e. a total of 52713 NCC Cdts.

Air Commodore L K Jain took over as Dy Director General NCC Rajasthan on 01 Apr 2021 after completing his tenure as the Dy DG, NCC Dte Karnataka & Goa. He was commissioned into the fighter bomber stream of the IAF on 15 Dec 90. He has more than 4,000 hours of flying experience on different types of aircraft including Canberra, IL-76 and Avro aircraft.  He was Chief Navigation Instructor at Navigation Training School.  He commanded a Missile Squadron at Srinagar and was Station Commander at Air Force Station Thane. He has undergone the prestigious HDMC course and did tenure as an Instructor at College of Defence Management. He has also served as Group Commander of an NCC Gp HQs at Nagpur.
