National Cadet Corps Officers Training School was established on 01 Mar 1957 by Lt Col CJ Wates at Kamptee. The academy was formally inaugurated by Sardar Surjit Singh Majithia, the then Deputy Defence Minister on 06 May 1957. In Mar 1979, NCC OTA at Purandhar was merged with the school. The school was redesignated as NCC OTA in Nov 2002. The academy celebrated its 60 glorious years of yeoman service to the nation on 01 Mar 2017.The NCC OTA is India’s unique trg institution where teachers and professors from schools and colleges are given rigorous mil trg and awarded commission as ANO. For their next promotion, three refresher courses are run yearly in NCC OTA. After promotion they are granted the rank of Captain and 2^nd Officer for SD and JD respectively.

      Maj Gen KJS Rathore was commissioned into 1 Med Regt on 04 Sep 1987, an alumni of prestigious Officers Training Academy, Chennai.He graduated from Lucknow Christian college, Lucknow. He has done various important courses of Army incl LGSC, TSOC & Senior Command Course. He has proudly served in almost all parts of the country during the entire service. The Gen Commanded 175 Med Regt & HQ 22 Arty Bde. The Gen Offr has tenated various coveted staff & comd appointments incl AMS, Col A(DV),  Col A, Dy Cdr HQ 96 Inf Bde, Brig A in HQ  4 Corps  & Dy MS, HQ Western Comd. He assumed the present appointment of Commandant, NCC Officers Training Academy, Kamptee  wef 05 Aug 2022.
