1. Organisation of NCC Directorate, Odisha. NCC Directorate is located at NCC Nagar, Plot No. G-41D, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswer and headed by DDG who is a Commodore rank officer from Indian Navy. Presently DDG is Commodore J Suresh. Directorate has four groups (Koraput Gp is under raising) and 28 Battalions. It has cadets from Army, Navy and Air Force consist of both junior and senior boys and girls.

1. Commodore J Suresh is presently appointed as Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate Odisha, Bhubaneswar. An Alumnus of Sainik School, Amaravathinagar and the National Defence Academy, Pune, the officer was commissioned into the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy in Jul 1991. The officer has specialised in Anti- Submarine Warfare and has served on a number of frontline ships of the Indian Navy. He has undergone training in the United States in Anti Submarine Warfare, Mine Warfare and also Expeditionary Warfare and was adjudged the Best International Military Officer (IMO) and an Honour Graduate in the Class of 2005 by the Marine Corps University, Quantico,USA, during the Overseas Staff Course.
2. In a career spanning 33 years in the Navy, the officer has been Directing Staff at the prestigious Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and Executive Officer of INS Godavari, a multipurpose guided Missile Frigate. As the Command Operations Officer (COO) of the Western Naval Command coordinating naval operations on Arabian Sea and North Indian Ocean, he was part of Anti-Piracy missions resulting in apprehension of more than 100 Somali pirates in 2011. After the tenure as the Command Anti-submarine Warfare Officer of the Western Naval Command, the officer attended the Higher Defence Management Course at the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad. The officer was also the Director Net Assessment at the Maritime Doctrines and Concepts Centre, Mumbai – a think-tank organisation for the Indian Navy, contributing extensively to the formulation of naval doctrines. In Nov 2015 he assumed appointment as Commanding Officer of INS Adyar, a premier Naval Establishment at Chennai under the aegis of the Flag Officer Commanding Tamilnadu & Puducherry Naval Area. Since 2018, the officer has tenanted the appointment of Commandant, Embarkation Headquarter Chennai, till assuming the current billet.
3. The officer is a post graduate in Defence and Strategic Studies from Madras University and holds the Master of Management Science degree from the Osmania University, Hyderabad. The officer has recently completed his Post Graduate Diploma Course in Psychological Counseling from Tamilnadu Open University.
4. The officer is an avid reader, enjoys trekking and travels extensively.
